As of today, Homer has been in the presence of His cherished Lord and Savior for the past 80 days.
Many of us wonder what he is experiencing, what he has seen -
Blessings
John 20.29 “Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are those who did not see, and yet believed.””
Rom 4.7 ““BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED.”
Romans 4.8 ““BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD WILL NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT.””
Promises
Experiencing
Inexpressible words
2 Cor 12.4 “was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted to speak.”
Proximity, closeness, presence of Christ
Luke 23.43 “And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.””
Comfort
Luke 16.25 ““But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things. But now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony.”
The presence of other saints (Homer liked to fellowship - to be with other believers)
Luke 16.23 ““And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom.”
Rev 19.1 “After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great crowd in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God;”
Paradise better than Eden
Luke 23:43 “And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.””
He is eating of the tree of Life
Rev 2.7 “‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.’”
Seeing/Hearing
1 Cor 2.9 “But just as it is written, “THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.””
Homer is Home now
2 Cor 5.8 “we are of good courage and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.”
Never be afraid, misplaced, or rejected again
Psalm 16.10 “For You will not forsake my soul to Sheol; You will not give Your Holy One over to see corruption.”
In the New Jerusalem Homer will never experience another Sunset, darkness, or gloom
Revelation 21:23 “And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.”
Revelation 22.5 “And there will no longer be any night, and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them, and they will reign forever and ever.”
Presented before God
1 Peter 3.18 “For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, so that He might bring you to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;”
Homer will never again experience pain, suffering, fear, tears, death or dying
Rev 21.4 “and He will WIPE AWAY EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain. The first things passed away.””
He will never experience humiliation or shame
Re 3.18 “I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be manifested; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.”
From beyond the grave Homer is pleading with those of you who do not know Christ to come to Him,
Gentle and Humble
Mt 11.29 ““Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.”
Christ will not crush or break those who come to Him
Isaiah 42.3 ““A crushed reed He will not break And a faintly burning wick He will not extinguish; He will bring forth justice in truth.”
God will never reject those who come to Him in the name of Christ
John 6.37 ““All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never cast out.”
